WHY ORCAS ISLAND?
You might be wondering, "Where are the San Juan Islands?"
The San Juan Islands are located in the State of Washington and situated
approximately 90 minutes north of Seattle, Washington, in the U.S.A. and
Vancouver, Canada.
Many Coaching Retreats are facilitated on Orcas Island in the San Juan
Islands for the following reasons:
- You will escape the hustle and bustle and get acquaint
ed with life on a
two-lane road. You won't see traffic lights here, and you will likely
see deer, horses, cows and lambs.
- Unlike Seattle, the San Juan Islands boast approximately 247 days of
sunshine!
- Participants start to unwind hours before they arrive here. Heavy
hitters who typically take days to unwind really appreciate the short
journey from the mainland to prepare themselves for extreme
self-care while creating life or business clarity.
- There are many local natural attractions for participants to explore and
experience, including kayaking or boating trips to see pods of Orcas Whales, porpoises,
seals, bald eagles, and more.
- Casual attire is the norm here...
THE SAN JUAN ISLANDS
- Orcas Island, the largest of the San Juan
Islands, boasts the highest peak in the San Juan Islands, Mt. Constitution.
Mt. Constitution is located in Moran State Park, a 5,000-acre tree-filled
state park with hiking trails, freshwater lakes suitable for swimming and
non-motorized water sports and waterfalls. There are several small
communities on the island that feature local restaurants, art galleries,
shops and harbors with activities.
- San Juan Island is well-known for the
Village of Friday Harbor which is a very popular tourist attraction next to
a harbor and the ferry landing. This is a wonderful island for
browsing shops, bicycling, kayaking and whale watching. Some Coaching
Retreats include a day trip to San Juan Island and, of course, this can be
included in a customized, private or corporate Coaching Retreat.
- Lopez Island is known for rolling hills
which are great for bicycle riding trips. There is also a very quaint
village providing many shopping opportunities for local products.
